Michael McCall, owner and Director of Photography at Backfocus Productions has worked in the industry for more than 15 years. Originally from Missouri, Mike started in television and live event productions before he moved over to the commercial production and freelance side of the industry.In 2002 he moved to Arkansas to work at Dempsey Film Group, the largest production company in the region. At Dempsey, he worked as a Director of Photography and an Editor for both national television programing along with commercial and corporate production.In July of 2011 Mike decided to open his own business, Backfocus Productions, after Dempsey decided to close its doors after 25 years in business.While Mike prefers to shoot and edit, his additional experience ranging from lighting to audio to grip allows him to work every job on the production set. These skills have given Mike a unique perspective of what it takes to make the shot or concept happen, and Mike has been awarded for it with numerous local and national awards including an ADDY award, several Telly Awards and numerous other awards for both shooting and editing on the local, regional, and national level.Mike is fully experienced with all the latest camera gear, and shooting techniques and he plays on his 15 years of camera experience to make your concept become a visual reality.
